In Defense of Fruitcake

This holiday season I feel compelled to speak up in defense of fruitcake.  I know most people hear fruitcake and think of those awful, too sweet concoctions filled with tragically neon mystery fruit, but I wish the world would try … Continue reading →

About Me

I am a suburban wife and mother of 2 really neat boys, we live in South Florida with our dog, fish, and occasional guest hamster. I grew up in California where kids were indoctrinated into the eco-friendly movement starting in elementary school. I actually remember a lesson in 2nd grade that included role playing of picking up litter in the park and singing a song about not wanting to be a litterbug! Those lessons really stuck with me and now as an adult I find myself looking for ways to lighten my family’s impact on the earth. I don’t have a big budget but I am on an adventure, an ecoventure if you will, to find all of the ways that my family can become greener. I invite you to follow along as we learn.
